Snorkelling and face painting to keep little ones entertained
It’s not too long until the kids go back to school and you can swap Easter activities for making packed lunches again.
Until then, we’ve got some unusual suggestions to keep things sweet until the inevitable Easter egg hunt at the weekend.
Get the 511
If the mere sight of seeing your kids running around tires you out, it might be time to take them to Club 511. They’re running two-hour sessions for five to 11-year-olds across this city from 1pm-3pm.
Find your closest session over at Glasgow Life.
Face painting classes
Spider Arts are inviting children and parents to come and learn about the art of face painting at the Jumping Clay Workshop this afternoon.
If you’re not afraid to end up covered in glitter as your little ones unleash their inner artist on you, this is a great way to spend the day. (Our advice? Make-up remover wipes will come in handy after this one.)
Freckleface: the Musical
We told you about this Scottish Youth Theatre gem last week and, seeing as it’s proving popular, we thought we’d give you give you a gentle reminder.
They’ve got two performances on today, one at 2pm and another at 5:30pm. The freckle-friendly performance is running until Monday.
An afternoon at the pictures
If you fancy putting your feet up for an hour or two, you could always pick a family flick and head to the cinema. (We advise acquiring popcorn to keep the kids quiet for the whole film.)
Choose from the likes of The Lego Movie, Khumba and Muppets: Most Wanted. Despite being animated or muppet-based, all three films come with an adult’s stamp of approval too.
Harlem Globetrotters
The one and only Harlem Globetrotters are in town for one night, performing at the Hydro. If sport games struggle to keep you or your kids’ attention, this is an impressive alternative. Tip off is at 7:30pm.
Here’s a preview of the New York athletes turning tricks. Now that’s just showing off.
