PINE BUSH – Residents in Pine Bush are casting votes today on a controversial proposal to split the district into wards.

The proposal calls for state law to be changed to allow the district split. Supporters say it will ensure equal representation on the school board. School Board Vice President Judy Pulver is against it, saying splitting up the district is prejudiced.

The Pine Bush superintendent did not return requests for comment. The school board president says he prefers to “stay neutral.”
