SIMCOE – Simcoe Little Theatre is diving into its final production of the season with a presentation of The Dixie Swim Club.

This hilarious, heartfelt comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Howe and Jamie Wooten brings together a mix of beloved SLT veterans with fresh faces.

A group of five Southern women assemble for their annual August weekend, a tradition that began over three decades ago while on a college swim team. The time away serves to free them from the weight o day-to-day life and to rekindle their longstanding friendship.

A beach cottage on the Outer Banks of North Carolina is the setting for yet another carefree retreat.

“The audience is going to be entertained royally as they share the ups and downs of this unique swim team of Southern belles as they go through life,” said director Larry Dawson, in a media release.

SLT’s presentation of The Dixie Swim Club starts Aileen Barron as the ever-organized team captain. Barron is joined by Jackie Stephenson, Melinda Campbell, Anna Reu and Sarah Finch.

Audiences will fall in love with these women and their indelible companionship as they wade through the riotously joyful, yet often treacherous waters of men, sex, marriage, parenting, divorce and aging.

The Dixie Swim Club runs June 5 to 15.
