NORWICH – It was another very busy week at the Norwich Lawn Bowling Club.
There was a full house on Monday, June 9 for the women’s pairs/mixed pairs tournament sponsored by McFarland Rowland Insurance Company and the Norwich Legion Branch 190. Bowlers from Burlington, Caledonia, Woodstock, Thamesford, Ingersoll, Aylmer and Norwich all enjoyed a day of bowling and socializing.
The first prize went to the Norwich team of Neville Williams and Donna McLellan; second prize winners were Frank Pring and Candace Teetzel (Caledonia and Norwich members); third to another Norwich team—Diana May and Ruby Withington. Fourth and fifth place prizes were awarded to two Burlington teams, and the one-game high prize went to a Woodstock team.
Tuesday night jitney was enjoyed by a few members, and Thursday night was the club’s barbecue with the Ingersoll club members joining in. Thirty-eight people enjoyed dinner together, and then took to the greens for a rousing game of bowls. It was great to see a full house on the greens.
New bowlers are welcome at any of the Tuesday and Thursday night jitneys at 6:45 p.m.
