Call to donate used cameras to less privileged kids
A DONATION drive to collect used cameras for children from low-income or single-parent families is under way.
The initiative aims to obtain cameras for less privileged children, who will then get to use them in photography outings.
The idea came from Ms Lee Siew Yian, a photography enthusiast and volunteer who will organise the outings for children from Touch Young Arrows – an arm of Touch Community Services which reaches out to children from low-income families.
She had mulled over how to get hold of enough cameras for the children, and felt there were probably many people who own multiple cameras, with the older models just sitting unused in drawers.
