Pupils who are due to start at Dinnington Comprehensive School this summer enjoyed three days of activities and introduction to the school.

The half term sessions gave them the chance to meet new friends and try things like cooking, creating graffiti art, learning mad science, getting active with sports and making racing robots.

Outside trips saw them try rollerskating, laser quest and ten pin bowling, as well as a trip to Rother Valley Country Park with cycling, archery, paddle boarding, canoeing and den building on the schedule.

“It was a great week. The activities were a great success with a number of children giving positive feedback from the experience,” said PE teacher Liam Kay,

One parent tweeted the school saying: “Sounds like my son had a great three days doing activities. Hope it helps him settle in quick when he starts June. Thanks.”

Nicola Kirkham, assistant head of Osborne house said the week was ‘great opportunity’ for house pastoral teams to meet the new students and to build up relationships.
