Robbie Coleman dreams of Commonwealth Games gold but Brumbies come first

ACT Brumbies flyer Robbie Coleman wants to help Australia win a Commonwealth Games gold medal next month but an impending Super Rugby finals campaign is set to end his hopes of medal redemption.

Four years after earning a silver medal at the 2010 Games in Delhi, Coleman harbours a desire to go one better in Glasgow and admits the opportunity is on his radar.

The Queanbeyan junior was included in a preliminary Australian sevens squad earlier this year, but an agreement between the ARU and the players’ association and the Brumbies’ play-offs hopes are likely to rule him out of contention.

The Commonwealth Games start in Glasgow on July 23, clashing with the second week of Super Rugby finals.
