Awards success for Sheffield’s sexual health service
Sexual health workers in Sheffield have won two awards for their use of internet technology in raising awareness of campaigns.
The Sexual Health Sheffield service picked up the prizes at the first annual eLearning Awards, held by NHS Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber.
The team won the ‘best use of mobile learning’ award for the Sheffield SH App – an application which provides information and access to sexual health services across Sheffield – as well as the first runner-up award for the ‘best use of social media’ following the success of two YouTube videos, called The HIV Hop and 10 Ways a Condom Can’t Protect You.
Steve Slack, the service’s community engagement manager, said: “We are very proud to have received these awards, which recognise our continuing efforts to support people in Sheffield to look after their sexual health and wellbeing and to easily access services when needed.”
The videos and app were designed and developed in partnership with Sheffield firm Dive Creative.
