The Mississippi State Department of Health has released a mobile app to promote sexual health.

The app, Your Personal Sexual Health, also provides tools for testing and prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

“This app really gives Mississippi an edge on sexual health knowledge and action,” Dr. Thomas Dobbs, the state epidemiologist, said in a new release. “It’s a convenient way to get the answers to the questions you’ve always had but maybe didn’t feel comfortable asking.”

Your Personal Sexual Health, which the Health Department bills as the first app of its kind in the nation, is free to users of both Android and Apple devices. It offers the following features:

  • Determining your risk level
  • Finding HIV/STD testing and treatment
  • Getting free condoms
  • Sending anonymous “get tested” messages
  • AIDS hotline direct calling
  • Myths and facts about HIV and other STDs
  • Prevention tips

The app can be downloaded by searching for Your PSH in the Google Play store or the Apple App Store.
