How can face creams help to create a youthful appearance?

For years, women have been encouraged to use face creams as part of an anti-ageing routine. However, what many women don’t realise is that your skin has different requirements at a young age to that it needs at the age of fifty. The question that many women ask is at what ages do you use an anti-ageing cream, and when do you use an anti-wrinkle cream, in order to age gracefully and retain a youthful glow?

Moisturising products are generally thinner than creams, so they provide more hydration which makes them great as an anti-wrinkle product. The moisture in the cream penetrates the skin’s layers to regenerate it and enable it to heal more easily than it would ordinarily. Likewise, an anti-wrinkle product can protect the skin from the elements and pollution which helps to create a softer and clearer complexion.

Anti-wrinkle creams should be applied at least once a day in order for your skin to benefit, although if you can apply it before bed as well then your skin has time to rest, repair and soak up the nutrients. It is important to use the products regularly in order to see the results you’re craving. Try not to overload your skin with the product as this will have an adverse effect, simply by clogging the pores and weighing your skin down, even if you’re using non-comedegenic products. Be sure to apply the cream to a clean, make-up free face, and use a small amount to begin with – you can always add a little more if need be. Once it is absorbed into the skin, you can then apply any make-up.

Once you’ve found a routine that works for you, it’s tempting to stick with it but this won’t always be the best option. As your skin changes, it is important to provide what it needs. If your skin is becoming dry, for example, you need to provide more hydration. As you age, be sure to keep your skin moisturised as much as possible to prevent dryness and keep the skin looking youthful.
