Shoulder Pain? It’s Best Not To Assume It’s Arthritis
Arthritis is guilty of causing random aches and pains in various parts of the body.
If you suffer from the condition in your back you may be used to these random flare-ups, but its best not to assume the pain in your shoulder blades is arthritis.
This pain could be due to a completely different condition.
Fibromylagia could be the cause of your pain as it usually occurs around the shoulder blades.
The condition is brought on by stress, sleep problems and headaches and the symptoms are very similar to some types of arthritis. And while it may last for some time, it is not permanent.
Alternatively, osteoporosis could be to blame. The disease results in the depletion of minerals in the bone and increase the risk of fractures. The pain in the shoulder blades could be due to a deformity in the curvature of the back which forces muscles to stretch.
It is not just problems with the bones that can cause this kind of pain.
Although the lungs are situated at the front of the chest, the back of the lungs can affect the back. Pain caused by inflammation of the gallbladder can also be felt in the back and shoulder blades.
The inflammation of a sack of fluid between the tendon and the hip bone can put pressure on the back and shoulder blades. Degenerative disc disease, where the discs between the cartilage in the spine deteriorate, can also cause shoulder pain.
A more serious cause of the pain could be metastatic bone cancer. This occurs when cancer forms in an organ and quickly spread to the bone. This type of cancer is life threatening.
But shoulder pain could also be caused by something as simple as bad posture.
It is important to check out any pain you experience and not just put it down to existing conditions. There are therapies and treatments that can help relieve the pain and deal with the underlying health problem.
