Young People Suffer From Arthritis Too. Is There Support?
Arthritis is a condition which you’d mainly associate with the elderly but the truth is that around ¼ of all sufferers of arthritis are under the age of 65 and it’s more than possible to contract the condition as young as two years old. Understandably most treatment for arthritis is aimed at those later in their lives and while this is great for those people it can be an issue if you’re a young person suffering from the condition.
There are over 200 different kinds of arthritis and they’re all primarily mobility disorders which have the potential to destroy a patient’s mobility entirely. The sheer mass of different types of the condition mean that finding a cure for it is very unlikely in our lifetimes, there’s simply so many to cure!
There are two main ways to prevent arthritis from getting worse beyond medication. These are things that you can do yourself and don’t require doctor’s consent. The first is light exercise which is used to keep mobility in your joints and prevent the development of chronic pain. The second is diet. Taking inflammatory foods out of your diet and filling it with as many anti-inflammatory foods as you can, will ease you condition.
Obviously these two changes need to be made while you’re taking whatever medication your doctor may be prescribing to you.
