When you want to lose weight your first idea might be to go on a diet. This is a bad move; it’s a much better idea to get exercising instead. Get off the bus a stop early or use the stairs instead of taking a lift.

There are so many clubs, groups and classes that we are spoiled for choice in the things that we can do. If you don’t like the idea of traditional sports try yoga or even just go for a run in the morning or the evening.

Getting the right equipment is absolutely essential to making the most of your exercise regime. This can include getting great running shoes or investing in a quality sports bra.
4. Fill yourself with the right food
It’s obvious that some foods are very bad for you – almost everyone advises cutting down on fat and sugar intake. Eating three healthy meals a day is a good start, but you should also try to get as much fruit and vegetables into your diet as you can.
5. Don’t leave yourself open to temptation
If you stop buying those sugary snacks you crave then they won’t be there when your raid your cupboards looking for a fix. Buy healthy snacks instead to ensure you stay good.
6. Set a realistic goal
Don’t try to push for something that’s impossible, set yourself small, achievable goals and it will be all the better when you get there.
7. Get rid of your scales
It can be easy to become obsessed with the minute details of the pounds you are gaining or shedding. Get rid of your scales and you won’t be tempted to weigh yourself every five minutes.
8. Make a task list
Many of us suffer with a little laziness from time to time. If you set yourself a list of tasks that includes your exercise you’re more likely to do it.
9. Get your exercise in early
Get up for an early run or go into the gym at their earliest opening time. Getting your exercise out of the way leaves you with the rest of the day free.
10. Exercise while your watch TV
Many modern treadmills have TV screens built into them, so make use of them! Go to the gym when your favourite show is on. You’ll get a great workout and you’ll be distracted by the TV.
