5 reasons your diet isn’t working for you
Have you been following your diet religiously and not been witnessing the results for the same? Well, there is a high chance that your diet isn’t suitable for your body due to which you haven’t been losing weight. Many a times it isn’t as simple as exercising and eating less. There might be other medical conditions which might lead a person to gain weight. Here are a few reasons that might help you figure out the problem in your weight-loss regime.
Obesity
It is a struggle for obese people to lose weight. Their stomach mechanisms begin to fail sending signals to the brain when full. Hence, the person fails to realise when he/she has eaten enough even after eating a lot of fatty foods. Thus, they end up overeating. Furthermore, the metabolism rate reduces and it becomes difficult for them to burn calories.
Lack of exercise
Merely dieting is not enough. Your body needs a daily dose of exercise. Working out not only burns your calories but also helps you feel fresh and rejuvenated. Exercising in the morning boosts your energy, keeps you pumped-up and active for the rest of the day. Lack of exercise lowers the rate of metabolism and makes you feel dull and tired all day.
Over-sleeping
Sleeping more than necessary will do nothing but make your body feel lethargic and inactive. This accumulates body fat and makes you gain weight. An adult does not need more than 5 hours of sleep. Eight hours of sleep is more than enough for a human being. Avoid sleeping in the afternoon. It’ll make you feel lazy and dormant.
You’re not drinking enough water
The body is made up of 60 percent water. It is important to maintain the water levels in the body as it renders to maintaining the body fluids. Drinking water also makes you feel fuller as a result of which you end up eating just the right amount of food that your body requires. Studies say that water also lowers the consumption of saturated fat.
You’re not shopping smart
Yes, it is very difficult to refrain from buying all those fancy food items at the grocery store but it is important to control yourself from buying unhealthy and junk items. Make a grocery list and stick to it. Exclude unnecessary buys. Buy healthy food items and overcome temptations. Many a times, buys indulge into guilty buys and end up eating these unhealthy food items which add onto those extra inches. Hence, it is better to stick to a grocery list.
Keep the above things in mind and make changes to your lifestyle accordingly!
