Avoid these foods to prevent breakouts and acne
How ridiculous is it that every time we have an important event to attend, we get a zit! We have all been under the acne attack and know how frustrating it can be to suddenly break out and not know what to do a thing about it. But, acne or breakouts are not a sudden phenomenon. While added levels of stress often lead to breakouts, the food that we eat also plays a big role in causing acne. Wave a red flag to these food items that can trigger acne.
Caffeinated drinks
The espressos and cappuccinos may give you that temporary burst of energy, but they are extremely unhealthy for your skin. Too much of coffee can activate the cortisol hormone in your body which is basically the stress hormone and will ultimately result in acne on your skin.
French fries
This all-time favourite snack can cause acne and breakouts. With all the oil and starch laden in the delectable dish, what else did you expect? Eliminate it from your regular meals and have it very occasionally.
All deep fried food
Too much oil, too many fats, too much grease translates into unhealthy skin and acne on your skin.
Cheese
Not all dairy products are good for you. So don’t make it an excuse to gobble up the cheese. All kind of cheese contains progesterone which can stimulate sebum and fat producing glands. Excess of fat leads to greasy and unhealthy skin and can become a playground for acne. Eat those burgers and pizzas with excess cheese in moderation.
Red meat
Red meat, like bacon, is very high in fats. Excess fat will stimulate your sebaceous glands increasing production of oil and preventing proper excretion which will eventually make your skin prone to acne. Cut down on red meat to get smoother and better skin.
Sweets
Besides weight gain and cardiovascular diseases, consumption of sweets can also lead to acne. Go light on the cookies, cakes, sodas, and candies and you will immediately notice a decline in the frequency and spread of your acne.
Guavas
Now, this may come as a little surprise, but this super-food can actually cause or aggravate constipation. Acne, as we know, is often a result of improper secretion and gut processes. Constipation will curb the elimination of toxins from the body which will ultimately result in the formation of acne.
