Baked broccoli and cheese
Ingredients:
2 cups fresh broccoli
1 tbsp butter
½ tbsp flour
½ onion, chopped
½ cup milk
1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
1 egg
Salt and pepper, to taste
Method:
– Preheat oven to 165 degrees C.
– Steam and cook the broccoli until tender but firm.
– In a saucepan, melt butter, add flour and stir. Then add onion and stir for a while.
– Add milk bit by bit and continue stirring for a while.
– Once this boils, let it cook for a minute and then remove from heat.
– Beat the egg, then stir into the saucepan mixture. Add the shredded cheese, salt and pepper, and stir in well.
– Finally put the broccoli in, and transfer to a baking dish.
– Bake for half an hour in the preheated oven.
