Keep a Clear and Stress Free Mind at Work

So it seems that in this world, if there is something  we want, we have to work for it. Many people set about earning a living by making use of a working environment. There are an  innumerable amount of professions in which people of different calibres are situated and as such each job comes with its own set of benefits/ downfalls.

 

Nowadays those who are trying to progress further in their career will find themselves going above and beyond their colleagues in a bid to impress senior management. This often leads to the person in question taking work home with them or doing vast amounts of overtime and this is where issues could arise. Everyone at work they have too much to do.

 

Experts believe that those who are taking on too much in a bid to progress could be at risk of developing health issues relating to stress. Stress as we know is the result of getting worked up over a situation, and in a recent study a whopping 70% of workers stated that they find themselves getting stressed out due to a difficulty at work. Too much stress can lead to the development of illness which can vary from insomnia all the way through to problems of the heart.

 

It seems that across the internet everyone has their opinion on how to deal with stress and I am sure that every individual will respond differently to each remedy. Personally, I suggest that before taking drastic action, everyone try and implement simple changes to their lifestyle to see if there are any improvements.

 

Time for yourself:

Wake up: Think about work

Go to work: Think about work

Finish work: Think about work

Go to bed: Think about work

 

If your day goes something like this, It could be time to find some time for yourself. All too often we get caught up in our jobs and forget to take care of our-self. The time spent does not need to be of a gratuitous amount and can even be finding an hour each evening in which you watch a television programme that you enjoy. If you have a spare day during the weekend, take your family out or just go for a bit of window shopping. In simple words, do anything that takes your mind off the daily grind.

Recognise the cause:

If you find yourself getting stressed whilst at work, note down who or what is causing it. By doing this you will be able to avoid or prepare for any future encounters. Just making a record of these things has been proven to be beneficial as you believe that you are working towards making life easier. Also find out what actions you have taken to remedy the situation and if it has worked or not.

Exercise:

Many studies conducted have shown that people claim that regular exercise aids them in reducing stress levels. If you are planning on taking this route, try to aim for at least 30 minutes, 5 days a week. This could even be walking/ cycling to and from work each day (might even save on fuel costs). Those who are stressed also suffer with insomnia, so participating in regular exercise could also assist you in your conquest to get back into a regular sleeping pattern.
