How to Get Rid of Your Double Chin With New Injections

A controversial new injection claims to be able to cure your double chin for good. This extreme anti-aging technique is purely cosmetically focused, rather than having any benefit for your wellness and wellbeing.

A double chin is a real problem area for many women, as it is a common area to store fat. People will do all kinds of things to try to disguise it, including wearing large, stylish scarves and using blending makeup to try to hide the line between chins. These non-surgical options are only partly effective, but people tend to go for them as they are anxious about the invasion of surgery, but now this injection promises to get rid of the excess fat without any need for anaesthetics and knives.

This injection is a synthetic, purified version of deoxycholic acid, which is a molecule that is naturally present in the body. This molecule helps to dissolve fat. When the drug was being trialled, about 70 percent of those injected found that they had a significant improvement in the look of their double chin. This result eclipsed even the company’s own projections about the drug.

A full course of the treatment involves having a few injections over the space of a number of months. These injections purportedly target the fat whilst leaving the other types of cells alone. The drug company anticipates that the drug will be approved for general use in the US and Europe in 2015.

This is a type of technique known as mesotherapy, and involves the injection of drugs into the fat. The product used in this case is a type of bile acid which cases fat cells to die, and therefore reduces the fat in problem areas such as in the double chin.
