Cambridge sexual health clinic singled out for praise
A Cambridge contraception and sexual health clinic has been recognised for its excellent care.
Dr Lynne Gilbert, associate specialist in sexual and reproductive health, and Vizminda Faustino, health care assistant – both of the Laurels in Newmarket Road – were awarded the Cambridgeshire Community Services (CCS) Shine a Light award after being nominated by a patients who was fitted with the coil.
The nomination read: “I received excellent care and my dignity was protected in every way. They reassured me and showed me empathy throughout, answering all my worries and they displayed great team work.”
The Shine a Light scheme allows members of the public to nominate staff who have made a real difference to their lives. Trust staff are also encouraged to nominate their colleagues.
Dr Gilbert said: “We are delighted to have won this award, which was a complete surprise to us both. We are fortunate to be part of a great team who take pride in providing the highest quality of care to our patients.”
