Mountain running c’ship held in city

 

 

The Jammu and Kashmir Mountain Running Association today organized an open Mountain Running Championship on Shankar Acharya Hills, here.

 

In the championship, Muzaffar Maqbool bagged the first place while as Tanveer Hussain of J&K Bank secured the second. Ishtiyaq Ismail from Kawoosa Narbal secured third position in the championship. It was the first open mountain running championship of the season during which Executive member of Maharashtra Mountain Running Association Paresh Pimpale was the chief guest. Pimpale distributed cash prizes among the winners

 

While addressing the participants on the occasion, General Secretary of J&K Mountain Running Association Riyaz Ahmad Wani said that district mountain running championships will be held in all the districts of J&K in days to come. He also informed that Indian Mountain Running Association is going to organize a National Mountain running championship in the second week of august this year. He said that the championship will be held at famous tourist destination Doodpathri in collaboration with J&K Tourism department.
