Free Bike Helmet Fittings Offered
Bicycling provides great exercise and enjoyment for riders of all ages, but every year hundreds of cyclists are killed and thousands more injured on U.S. roadways, reports AAA.
Helmets are the best defense to prevent serious head trauma, says AAA. For that reason, AAA is conducting free bicycle helmet fitting events at branch locations in the Omaha metro area.
In partnership with the Cornhusker Motor Club Foundation, the events will feature free bike helmets for children ages 5-14, safety literature, and refreshments.
Helmet fittings will be held:
- April 12, from 9 am to 11 am, 815 N 98 Street (98th & Burt Street near Westroads Mall)
- May 3, from 9 am to 11 am, Twin Creek Plaza (near 39th St and Hwy 370 in Bellevue)
- May 10, from 9 am to noon, 2606 S 132 St (northwest corner of 132nd and Center)Children must be present with their parent or guardian to be properly fitted. Helmets are available in popular designs and colors while supplies last.
