Dietary Killers
Now, we’ve all been looking for ways to count the calories and lose those last few stubborn pounds. One of the most common New Years resolutions is losing weight and an astounding amount of us drop our resolution as quickly as two weeks after the first day of January. There are all sorts of easier way of losing weight than joining the gym or otherwise taking up a strenuous exercise programme and one of those is switching what we drink.
Drinking diet soft drinks instead of their full-sugar alternatives could very well help you in shifting some weight but, according to a new study in the USA, frequent consumption of such beverages can be just as harmful to us as drinking the alternative. The danger is different of course and you will indeed lose the weight. The study showed that a 48% increase in the likelihood of getting a stroke or having a heart attack in those who drink diet soft drinks every day.
Of course for those who drink these beverages less frequently the danger is lessened or dispersed entirely and as with all such studies, the information is fairly preliminary and isn’t conclusive. More studies into the same area are planned however and with a wider set of perspective test subjects and more time and energy put into discovering the individual factors behind the potential damage that diet soft drinks do, a conclusive answer will be found.
Remember, if you’re at all concerned by your intake of these drinks then please don’t hesitate to contact your Doctor for advice. Generally it’s always a good idea to replace whatever drinks you can with water. Water’s incredibly good for you and drinking almost solely that will definitely help to lose weight quickly!
