Metabolic Disorders Cause Acute Obesity
Food allergies and sensitivities might not just be a wellbeing issue, but a weight loss issue too! Adverse food reactions can indirectly affect your weight, as they strongly contribute to several metabolic disorders, and, as you’re probably aware, you metabolism plays a pivotal role in weight loss.
Firstly, a metabolic disorder can cause a hormonal imbalance in your endocrine system, including your thyroid and adrenal glands. This makes it harder for the body to burn stored fat. Research also shows that even if you’re able to maintain normal function of the thyroid and adrenals, another way a metabolic disorder can harm your wellbeing is that it disturbs your insulin levels, which signals your body to convert food energy into fat, and also contributes to hypoglycaemia.
A third disorder you might attain through food sensitivity is a disruption of your mood chemistry. This means that your adverse reactions from certain foods actually cause your levels of serotonin to fall dramatically. Serotonin is the calming neurotransmitter, so low levels of it can lead to depression, anxiety, and compulsive eating urges, which clearly follow on to overeating. Instable levels of serotonin can also present itself in physical disorders, such as migraines, menstrual syndrome, fibromyalgia, and irritable bowel syndrome, which can also lead to eating problems.
Metabolic disorders also cause dysfunction in your energy levels and immune system. Food sensitivity contributes to insomnia, as well as deregulating your immune responses as food reactions are usually malfunctions of the immune system. These all contribute to your inability to exercise and the other metabolic disorders that have already been mentioned.
Finally, food allergies and sensitivities also indirectly contribute to the occurrence of Candida yeast colonization in mucosal membranes. Candida is a harmful fungi, which causes symptoms similar to those of chronic fatigue syndrome and causes bloating. Yeast colonization also exacerbates adverse food reactions, and therefore you should start a restrictive diet or get tested for food sensitivities, to see if your wellness and weight control might improve.
