Soft drinks are a danger to men but not women!
Osteoarthritis is one of several kinds of arthritis which people can suffer from. It’s caused when the cartilage in some areas of the joints wears away and as the job of cartilage is to cushion the bones from rubbing together; this is exactly what starts to happen. The bones rubbing together can cause terrible pain in sufferers as well as all sorts of other health concerns. As with all other kinds of arthritis a lot is known about the condition but its overarching cause is not, we know all sorts of factors but not the defining thing which will cause arthritis in a human beings.
A new and rather worrying factor has recently come to the attention of scientists, if men drink soft drinks a lot and suffer from osteoarthritis they could well find that their condition deteriorates at a much quicker rate than it otherwise would. Why isn’t entirely clear but those same scientists checked to see whether it was simply the weight gain associated with those diseases and it was found that that was not the case. Being heavier set will advance osteoarthritis but it’ll do so entirely separately of soft drinks.
What’s very strange about this finding is that in the same study, women were tested in the same way that men were and they were found to be totally immune to the soft drink factor. Weight gain would still affect their arthritis but the soft drinks on their own simply didn’t have the same effect on ladies as it did on men which, I’m sure you’ll agree is fairly odd.
Researchers aren’t entirely sure why their results turned out the way they did but further study will follow and before you know it will know exactly why this new danger of soft drinks is only a danger for men!
