Exercise without Equipment Part Six

Welcome one and all to part six on my money saving exercise series. To the veterans, it’s nice to see you again and if you’re new to this fun then make yourself comfortable. We’re going to go through some exercises which you can do indoors, without an overpaid instructor barking at you and without any expensive equipment. All you’ll need is yourself, this article and the desire to lose weight. Let’s get to it!

  1. Frog Push Ups. You’ve all seen the little bow legged amphibians hopping about, what you may not know is that frogs actually have hugely powerful legs and can leap massive distances when they put their minds to it. Short disclaimer here, you’re not going to be leaping across fields if you do this exercise regularly but you will tone your legs and build up the muscles in your upper body too! Clever things, frogs.

How To

Start in the standard push up position, you know the one, and then jump your feet forwards into a squat position. Your feet should land just slightly wider than your hands so that you’re essentially in a frog-like crouch. Return to the starting position and repeat as many times as you can over the course of around 60 seconds. It’s as simple as that!

  1. The Bear Crawl. Have you noticed my animal theme? No. Oh, pity. Anyway, this exercise will work the whole body and though you may look a bit strange doing it, some drawn curtains and the lion king soundtrack will have you well away. It’s worth it for the weight loss!

How To

Start in a bent kneed push up position, with your knees about 90 degrees and your feet under your hips. Crawl forwards, moving left hand with right foot and vice versa. Try speeding up and moving a greater distance for a greater effect and see how far you can go in 60 seconds!
