Six Steps To A Solid Workout Routine
- Decide where you want to be. This is important for you so that you can measure your progress and feel the pride of seeing just how far you’ve come. You can have any goal at all, if it’s weight loss you’re after then go for that, if you want to run a marathon then that’s fine too. Plan your exercise around this and keep track of every step you take in the right direction!
- Fit it in. You’ll need you work out when the best times for you work out are. Don’t be stupid with this, you’re never going to work out for hours every day, try half an hour four times a week and work up from there. Fit it in where you can and don’t push yourself too hard to start with, patience is a virtue and doing too much too soon will do you more harm than good.
- Keep track of your process. Get a workout notebook or if you’re feeling arty then mark a chart. Make sure you take the proper pride in your achievements and don’t compare yourself to other people, that’s a one way road to feeling inadequate.
- Consult a professional. Just to make sure your goals and schedule match up and to make sure you’re moving in the right direction. You won’t need constant supervision, just the green flag to get going!
- Warm up! You’ll regret it if you don’t. I cannot stress how much pain you’ll be in the next day if you don’t warm up before you exercise. A couple of stretches and a slow build up and you should be fine!
- Try attending a fitness class if they fit into your schedule. They might make the experience more fun and you could even make friends with some people in the same boat as you!
