How Your Body Gains Love Handles And How To Remove Them
It’s the bugbear of many who diet and exercise and a problem area for men and women alike – love handles. The usual culprit is a diet too high in carbohydrates, which are stored as fat around the hips. These foods are those such as potatoes, bread and pasta, which have a high sugar and glycemic content. Broken down into glucose in the body, they create a release of insulin in the pancreas which transports glucose around the body for energy – when the cells have too much glucose, it gets stored as fat.
This process not only causes excessive weight gain, but it also causes the body to become insulin resistant over time. This leads to an even high storage of fat around the body – a good way to check if you are insulin resistant is to check the amount of fat stored under your shoulder blade. If you have more than 10 percent fat, you may have a problem.
There is an easy way to counteract this problem though – simply remove the starchy foods from your diet. Try to include more green leafy vegetables, such as cabbage or spinach, a range of fruits to gain as many nutrients as possible, and plenty of vegetables. These foods will replace the pasta, rice and potatoes you need to remove from your diet. Once you start changing the way you eat, you’ll notice a massive difference in the size of your love handles. Exercise is also a beneficial addition to your new regime, not only helping you to tone your physique but also helping to release endorphins, improve your wellbeing and increase your fitness levels.
Although they are a difficult bodily area to work on, it is possible to reduce your love handles dramatically simply through a change in your diet and a more focused exercise programme.
