The Best Ways of Dealing with Arthritis Are…

Arthritis is a chronic condition which is caused when the cartilage in the joints wears away and allows the bones to rub together. Cartilage is the body’s natural buffer and without it the constant friction between bones causes irritation and eventually, inflammation. It’s the inflammation which is the main symptom of arthritis and will eventually cause immobility and disfigurement if not treated promptly and often. Arthritis isn’t curable and as such a patient will need to learn to live with the condition and take precautions against it to keep their health and wellbeing nice and high.

There are all sorts of things an arthritic patient can do to try and alleviate their symptoms and raise their standard of living. Obviously there are medical options and drugs and treatments will be prescribed to you from your doctors or health professional but there are also things which you yourself can do. Exercise

This might be the last thing you want to do as a patient who sufferers from mobility issues. It may hurt you to move and if it does we suggest starting with exercises which cause a minimum of stress on your joints. A great set of exercises are known as water aerobics and because the water supports some of your body’s weight this causes much less strain on your joints. Remember not to overdo this, you’re trying to ease the joints not make them worse. Persistent or excessive exercise can make symptoms worse so do the right amount for you and no more!

Rest

Just important as exercise. You’ll want to make sure you’re getting the right amount of sleep and not over-straining your inflamed joints with excessive movement. Try and take things easy but avoid holding the same position for too long as this could cause your joints to cease up!
