The Balancing Act Of Weight Loss. The Pincer Attack

Did you know that excessive amounts of weight gains and then losses can be very harmful to your health? Your body wasn’t built to continually switch between weights so if you’re going to lose it, then plan to keep it lost for good. That’s easier in the long run anyhow, it means you won’t have to keep crash dieting. You’ll be able to create yourself a balanced diet which neither loses you weight nor gains it, a stable diet if you will.

The best way to be stable in your eating habits is to find balance. This is a bit of a cliché, a buzz word gone bad. So let’s think of it differently. If you wanted to learn to drive, you’d learn laws and the codes involved but you’d also get in the car and practise driving. If you were going to learn Spanish, you’d learn as many words as you could but eventually you’d get out there and speak to Spanish people. It’s always good to come at something from more than one angle. Though you can do either of those things with just one of the techniques described, you’ll be a better driver and a better linguist if you use both!

In weight loss your two methods are diet and exercise. If you diet meticulously then you’ll lose weight and if you exercise like a maniac you will too. However both of those options take a huge amount of effort and self-control. Why not just use a bit of both? Your weight loss becomes far more effective immediately and you don’t need to do nearly as much as either which is a big bonus in itself!
