The study confirmed that hot flushes and night sweats often disappear when supplements of vitamin E are taken daily. But they soon return if you stop taking the supplement.
It has been suggested that medicines such as oestrogen-based hormone drugs could be linked to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. With this in mind it can be worth trying a natural alternative first to see if you can achieve the desired results without having to take the risk.
