A Little Less Or A Little More All Adds Up To Better Health
Life is all about balance so sometimes a little less or a little more is all we need to get the balance right. That more or less might be about diet or exercise but whatever you need to do more or less of, you can get there by being prepared to do things differently.
Perhaps you look at the scales and know you need a little less of the pounds you’re seeing measured there and so a little more thought is needed in what you eat. Before you dive into a diet, which is often doomed to failure, start a food diary and over the course of 7 days, accurately note everything you eat and drink – be honest in your recording of your intake. When you look at the diary, you will probably see right away where your eating habits have gone awry.
Be a little more organised about what you eat and a little less inclined to reach for the snacks and comfort food. Plan your meals in advance but be flexible too – nothing is more off-putting than knowing exactly what you’re going to be munching on 5 days from now! A little more of what you fancy won’t do you any harm either and once you’re enjoying a more balanced, healthy diet, be prepared to see a little less of yourself on the scales and in the mirror.
A little more movement and a little less lazing can also get you up when it comes to exercise. Changing your diet in tandem with increasing your activity levels will help you see positive outcomes more quickly.
You might already have an exercise regime that’s gone stale so be a little more inventive about what you do and look for a different activity to try weekly. This could be an exercise class or something more challenging such as yoga. Perhaps you’ve always wanted to try a spin class. Be a little less afraid and you’ll soon see the physical and mental changes taking place.
There is no quick fix when it comes to diet and exercise. Instead be a little more patient and a little less anxious and you will reap the benefits.
