Kids With Asthma Will Suffer Less With Outgoing Parents

In early life there’s nothing more important than the support of parents. Having a good relationship with your parents and a strong bond with them will help set you up for later life in all sorts of ways. It’s also a strong psychological booster when it comes to some of the trials and tribulations of childhood itself. There’s been a recent study in the US which backs this up. It turns out that parents who expect the most out of their kids tend to get it and having a positive attitude rubs off on children in more ways than one!

Asthma is a condition which affects the respiratory system, specifically the bronchioles in the lungs. Excessive levels of mucus are created and inflammation can occur which can make it harder to breathe or, in worst case scenarios, impossible to do so. Though it’s now fairly uncommon to die from an asthmatic attack in the developed world, it’s still a major killer in the less developed areas of the globe. 80% of all asthma related deaths occur in the less developed areas and as such it’s not a condition which should ever be taken lightly.

The study which was recently completed in the USA has shown that kids, whose parents expect their children to be able to do more regardless of their condition, suffer much less severe symptoms than those whose parents treat them with kid gloves. Understanding the best ways to deal with asthma was another important factor to children suffering less severely. It can be easy to wrap a child in proverbial bubble wrap and try and protect them from the world in general but this seems to do them more harm them good. It’s important that they know that just because they’ve got asthma, doesn’t mean than they can’t live their lives!
