He Eats, You Eat: Is Your Man Messing with Your Metabolism?
Your partner doesn’t only have an impact on your sexual health or emotional wellbeing; he also influences your waistline! While he may not realise it, your man is messing with your metabolism, so how do you guard your wellness against his meddling ways?
He eats, you eat: Men tend to eat more, eat out more often, and eat more unhealthy foods than their better halves. However, you might be starting to match your man’s eating patterns, which will have a negative affect on your weight. While eating meals together is an important and unavoidable part of any happy relationship, that doesn’t mean you have to eat the same things. Gauge your true hunger by imagining a big steak dinner. If you can’t stomach the thought, you may be done for that meal.
He’s more appealing than exercise: Yes, you promised yourself you’d go for a run before work, but snuggling for another hour in bed is far more interesting. However, if weight loss isn’t a good enough motivation, try this one on for size: exercise boosts sex drive! The more you keep up with your fitness regime, the better your early morning bed sessions will be. Exercise helps you to keep your pelvic floor tight and toned, which is a huge benefit in long-term lovemaking.
You’re not going out on the prowl: All those cosmos you drank on ladies’ night weren’t exactly low-calorie, but at least you worked them off on the dance floor. Now, however, you’re coupled up, and would much rather settle in on the sofa, pop some popcorn and have a movie night. But if every night becomes movie night, not only will you miss out on some necessary girl time with your friends, your waistline will suffer. If your man loves you, he still wants you to have your night on the town with the girls, so force yourself away from the TV once every few weeks and dance that popcorn away.
Me has become we: Just like he doesn’t want to come dancing on ladies’ night – and nor is he invited – he’s not a fan of your weekly yoga class and doesn’t want to take salsa lessons with you. They say opposites attract, but activities you plan for yourself can change when you meet someone new, and become things you both like doing. While hanging out together is important, make sure you schedule a weekly session of the activity you love, just for you. Couples need to spend time away from each other to remember why they’re wild for one another.
