It’s still very early, but Oak Park girls track and field leads the MLive Detroit Team of the Week poll on Monday afternoon.
With 61.7-percent of the votes so far, Oak Park will is trying to be the second track and field team ever to win a Team of the Week poll. However, there are plenty of dominant teams left – some that have won our poll in previous seasons.
Poll closes at noon on Friday and you can vote once every hour up until then.
How does it work?
We will head out to provide special coverage of the team that wins the vote. You can expect exclusive coverage that includes feature stories, fun video interviews and game coverage (weather permitting).
There might be a few tweaks this year with the team of the week coverage, but all of it will be fun to follow.

Do you want your team to be on the next poll? Well, go ahead and nominate them for next week’s poll that will be released on Monday. Post your nomination in the comments section below or email japurcell@mlive.com with the subject line “team poll.” These must be teams from the Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County coverage areas.
If your team was on the poll this week and didn’t win, please wait at least one week to nominate your team again.
