Green Coffee Beans: A Real Weight Loss Supplement?
We all know people who seem to be constantly dieting. You might even be one of those people, always looking to shed weight, but not having found the right solution for you yet. This leads many people to start using weight loss supplements. There are many supplements out there that offer a number of benefits such as appetite suppression, speeding up the metabolism or burning off excess fat. But too often these supplements can’t deliver on everything or anything that they promise.
Now, however, there is a new option that is gaining popularity. And unlike most supplements, this one comes with a weight of scientific evidence behind it. A team of researchers have revealed the startling findings from a weight loss study that shows how taking an extract from unroasted green coffee beans resulted in impressive weight loss in obese and overweight people.
In the study, 16 overweight or obese participants were assessed using a crossover method of study. Crossover method is when participants are divided into test compound and placebo control groups. They then switch around the dosages between the groups after a specified length of time. This allows the study to be completely fair to make sure there aren’t external factors that are influencing the eventual result.
In this new study there were three groups. They consisted of a high-dose green coffee bean extract group, a low-dose extract group and a placebo group. The groups took their dosages for six weeks and then swapped around.
After the 22-week study period ended the researchers found that the participants had lost an average of 17 pounds. That weight loss had consisted of an average of a 10.5 percent reduction in body weight and a 16 percent decrease in body fat.
