The 5-Star Weight Loss Plan

You associate calories with weight loss, and they seem like negative things, but the truth is that you can’t live without calories. Your body needs calories for energy and to function properly and yet if you overdo it on the caloric intake, your wellness and your weight control can suffer. Age, weight, height, and the amount of activity you do are all factors in deciphering how many calories you need to stay fit, but there are 5 ‘star’ pieces of advise you can follow to decrease your calorie intake, whilst looking out for your wellbeing.

Firstly, don’t overindulge in greasy foods. This doesn’t mean that you can’t eat pizza and fried chicken, but eating too much fast food can lead to weight gain, as well as other health problems. Taking in too many calories from fast foods will mean you can’t burn them all, so your body will store them as fat, especially if you’re not getting enough exercise.

However, though you should forgo the fast food, star tip number 2 is that you should never skip a meal – especially breakfast. By skipping meals, your body thinks you’re starving, which will make it go into starvation mode, and your metabolism will slow down. This goes in hand with the third star tip on your calorie cutting plan: eat more frequent and smaller meals through the day. This will prevent your body from going into starvation mode, and will keep your metabolism on the right track instead.

Tip four may seem obvious but it’s vital for your weight control wellness. Try to eat as healthily as possible, making sure you get the right balance of protein, vegetables and complex carbohydrates. Focus on eating fish and vegetables, rather than eating too much meat. Why not try skipping fizzy and alcoholic drinks and greasy foods for a week?

Finally, exercise is the last, but extremely important star tip on this list. Without exercise, your body can’t lose the calories as fast as it gets them in. Getting 30 minutes of exercise 5 times a week is recommended for your health, as well as for losing calories. The most important thing to remember with all of these tips is that reading them won’t do anything – doing them will!
