Balancing Diet And Exercise For Weight Loss
A good balance of diet and exercise is the most effective way to lose weight. Regardless of how amazing the latest weight loss fad might be, this will always be the ultimate way of shedding those excess pounds. Most of us are willing to try to follow a decent diet because it’s much less difficult than starting a new exercise regime. We’ve all got this idea of exercise being big and scary but the fact is that it doesn’t actually have to be.
New research is showing that exercising an hour a day might not be the best thing for you. All those people who go to the gym straight after work and run for an hour might not have the best method down. When you do a lot of the same exercise it becomes easier and less strenuous. This is good in that your muscles get stronger but bad in that less strenuous means less calories burnt. Exercising for less time in a more strenuous way has been shown to be more effective. Just three half hour bursts in which you really get your heart rate up is better for you than an hour a night of steady running.
Couple this exercise with a good and balanced diet and you’ll be losing weight faster than you ever thought you could. If you’re not a gym person then there’s plenty you could do from the comfort of your own home to get your heart pumping. This might be better for you if you’re just starting as you can build up some confidence without prying eyes on you. It can be a little intimidating to go to the gym when everyone there looks like they’re getting ready to run a marathon! Remember you’re there for you and not them. It doesn’t matter what they think as long as you’re getting all you can out of your exercise.
